Opportunity Machine programming is focused on helping companies anywhere from idea stage through Series A investment.

Am I a good fit for OM membership?

If you’re considering whether membership at OM is the right fit for you, below are helpful questions to consider. If the answer to one or more of these questions is yes, OM resources might be suited to help you!

  • Does your business fall into one of the major categories: technology, tech-enabled, STEM, or mass market?

  • Do you intend to scale your business operations through technology?

  • Do you have the potential to serve customers beyond the Acadiana region, perhaps on a national or global scale?
  • Do you possess any intellectual property (IP)?

  • Are you seeking non-traditional capital or funding, such as venture capital or research grants?

What types of companies may not align well with the resources available at Opportunity Machine?

At Opportunity Machine, each membership application is carefully reviewed to ensure that our resources align with the unique needs of early-stage technology, research-driven, and innovative startups. It’s important to note that this list is not arbitrary; rather it has evolved based on thoughtful consideration and aims to ensure that our support remains impactful and tailored to startups that align with our mission. Below, you’ll find a list of company types that do not align with our current focus and available resources.

  • Multi-level marketing, payday loans, politically/religiously affiliated, gambling, speculative real estate development, pawn shops

  • Businesses that require a storefront/brick-and-mortar

  • Life coaches / motivational speakers

  • Most consulting services

  • Therapy services

  • Staffing agencies

  • Media/News agency

  • Mortgage/Lending companies

  • Janitorial companies

Our Incubator Mentor Program is available to all membership levels. You can apply for membership here.

How can I participate in the Accelerator Mentor Program?

Our Accelerator Mentor Program is part of the benefit of participating our in accelerator programs. If you’re interested, you can apply for membership and indicate interest in accelerator program participation here.

How can I become a mentor?

How do I apply for The Builder Program?

To apply for The Builder Program, simply fill out the membership application & be sure to click “Yes” when asked if you’d like to participate in The Builder Program.

How often does The Builder Program run?

The Builder Program runs cohorts 3 times per year – once in the Spring, once in the Summer, and once in the Fall.
