Kick Off National Entrepreneur Month at Opportunity Machine Innovation Conference
Entrepreneurs, startup founders and small business owners from across Louisiana will come together at the Opportunity Machine Innovation Conference (OMIC) to kick off National Entrepreneur Month. OMIC is a three-day series of networking events, panel discussions, pitch competitions, educational sessions and keynote presentations that highlight innovation, creativity and forward thinking in business. OMIC takes place November 1-3 at LITE, 537 Cajundome Blvd.
“This year, the OM Innovation Conference has expanded from an exposition-style event to a three-day conference due in part to a consistent increase in entrepreneur activity in the region,” said Destin Ortego, Director of Opportunity Machine. “Lafayette Parish has a substantial community of innovators and entrepreneurs. This conference aims to bring those innovators and entrepreneurs together to learn, share, and celebrate innovative best practices in a range of areas such as tech, marketing, energy, healthcare, and general business startup.”
Among the list of keynote speakers are CEO of Xenex Disinfection Services, Morris Miller; CEO of Waitr, Chris Meaux; Program Director of Digital Health and Medical Devices at the National Science Foundation, Nancy Kamei; and Lafayette Mayor-President, Joel Robideaux. Additionally, attendees can also enjoy:
- Presentations from more than 40 speakers and panelists
- OM Entrepreneur Expo with 30 presenting companies
- Accelerate South Healthcare Pitch Competition
- Pitchers and Draft Pitch Competition at Jefferson Street Pub
